The most sophisticated tool in Chinese medicine

Positive Health - Final5.png

Chinese herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years to treat complex, chronic, and multi-layered conditions.

Its power lies in its adaptability — each formula is individually crafted, allowing me to tailor the prescription to the nuances of your cycle, hormones, constitution, and the deeper patterns shaping your health.

Rather than forcing the body to behave in a particular way, herbal medicine works with your physiology — strengthening what's depleted, calming what's overactive, and gently guiding your system back into balance. It doesn't just treat symptoms — it works at the root of what's really going on, and with the right prescription, that's what makes it such powerful medicine.

I use herbal medicine alongside acupuncture and as a standalone treatment, depending on what we're addressing. Both acupuncture and herbal medicine play an important role, and neither replaces the other. Acupuncture offers concentrated support ,and herbal medicine builds on this between sessions, supporting the body on a daily basis. When used together, they allow me to address both the outward presentation and the underlying root patterns, offering a more complete and sustained approach to women's health.

How It Works

The key distinction between Chinese herbal medicine and most Western supplement approaches is individualisation. No two prescriptions are the same. Every formula is built around your specific presentation - not just the condition, but your constitution, your symptoms, your cycle, and how things are changing over time.

Herbs are rarely used in isolation. They are combined into formulas where each ingredient plays a specific role, enhancing therapeutic effects while minimising side effects. As your health changes, the formula changes with it. It's a living prescription, not a fixed one.

Quality and Sourcing

As a member of the Royal College of Herbal Medicine, I am required to source all herbs through reputable, approved suppliers who meet strict standards for quality, safety, and sustainability. Every herb is correctly identified and tested for contaminants - including heavy metals, pesticides, and adulterants - and complies with UK and EU regulations. Sustainable and ethical sourcing is a core requirement of RCHM membership, including the protection of endangered species in line with CITES regulations.

In short: you know exactly what you're taking, and where it comes from.
