Case 8
Recurrent Miscarriage
"I was 40, with five recurrent miscarriages behind me and countless rounds of IVF. My fertility clinic had told me it was time to consider donor egg treatment."
I was exhausted and disheartened — but instead of going down that road, I decided to try a different kind of approach, and I started working with Julie.
Rather than picking up where I'd left off, Julie and I went right back to the start. We had a thorough consultation, and together we worked to get real answers as to why this kept happening to me — not just to try again and hope for a different result.
From then, I did regular acupuncture, herbs, and additional screening to look into things that hadn't been explored before.
Over the following months, we slowly unravelled quite a few things. Julie guided me through every step of it.
After seven months of working together, I fell pregnant naturally.
To say I was petrified would be an understatement. I had never gotten beyond nine weeks in any of my pregnancies, so the early weeks were terrifying in a way that's hard to put into words.
The first trimester was the hardest period I've ever been through. It wasn't that anything was going wrong — it was the unknown, the constant fear that things wouldn't work out. Julie kept me sane throughout it.
But they did work out. I got past the point I'd never reached before, and I am eternally grateful to Julie for her expertise, thoroughness, calmness, and for always advocating for me.
